Why Home Visits?
Home visits may be necessary when
- 1.You may face mobility difficulties getting out and about
- 2.Transportation is not available
- 3.Post operative situations where mobility is restricted
SMB Physiotherapy Clinic is pleased be to offering home based Physiotherapy for those within the communities of St. Margaret's Bay, Tantallon and Hammonds Plains. Our home visit program has been established to coincide with our clinic practice and is ideally suited for seniors and the challenges that are faced through mobility issues. An array of chronic health problems can be treated effectively in the comfort and security of your home.
A Physiotherapist will also advise you on the most suitable aids and modifications for your home situation. One of the benefits of having a Physiotherapist treating you at home will allow other members of the family to be involved and to gain a better understanding of your condition and where and when to offer you assistance. We help enable those that need home based Physiotherapy to bring dignity and freedom back into their lives.
Our Home Care Physiotherapist is fully equipped with various modalities to effectively treat your condition.
What to expect from a home visit?
When you set an appointment time for a home visit it is important to set aside at least one hour of your time that will allow the Physiotherapist to conduct an initial assessment that will then determine your treatment regime. Select a quiet room that is relatively warm. A spouse or friends are more than welcome to be present during the home visit. Write down any questions that you have and think about what your goals are for the treatment.
The first visit will consist of full assessment that may take up to an hour so that the Physiotherapist can fully understand your condition and determine the treatment plan. The Physiotherapist will discuss the treatment and will also conduct an initial treatment.
The Physiotherapist will arrive at the appointed time but if traffic or unforeseen circumstances prohibits the Physiotherapist from arriving you will be notified immediately and arrange for an appropriate appointment time.
If for any reason you cannot keep the appointment time that you have arranged please notify our office administrator at least 24hrs before the appointment. This will help manage everyone's time and allow for another appointment time.
Payment and Insurance Coverage
Most Physiotherapy treatments are eligible for private insurance coverage like Blue Cross, Great West Life, Sun Life etc., and Motor Vehicle Accident coverage. Payment can also be made with cash or through our office administrator who can manange credit card or debit payments.
